What a Coincidence. These three words rob God of much Glory in my life.
Last night I was woken up by a continuous vibrating noise. My first assumption was to check my phone, but it hadn't vibrated and wasn't set to go off for another hour. Ashley woke up immediately after me and we realized it was more then likely our upstairs neighbor's phone that fell on the floor and had it's alarm going off. I began to pray to God out of frustration. "God, I'm exhausted, please make this noise stop!" Shortly after the prayer, it stopped. Ashley and I sat up out of joy of silence and express that we both had been praying for the noise to stop. God or Coincidence?
I get very uncomfortable attributing that situation to God. I get uncomfortable since I don't want to seem or sound Hyper-Spiritual, and therefore I belittle God in answering a desperate, sleep-deprived prayer.
I praise God in large matters, but overlook small daily blessings. I praised God when he provided Ashley and I with a place to live, however, I never praise Him for my safe drive to work.
God created everything(Genesis 1:1) and is in control of everything(Deuteronomy 10:14).
I read it, and my heart truly believes it, but you wouldn't know it by my response to His Grace in blessings. When God is due His Glory I suppress my emotions.
Our life is full of opportunities to Glorify God, it's whether we do or don't.
1 Corinthians 10:31 is my prayer for the day:
